Franklin Avenue in the Seward neighborhood is gearing up for a milestone: its 50th annual Open Streets celebration this summer. The event, a tradition since 1974, will transform Franklin Avenue into a pedestrian zone, highlighting local businesses, artists, and community organizations.
Scheduled for August 10, Open Streets will close Franklin Avenue to vehicular traffic from Hiawatha Avenue to just past Interstate 35W. Residents and visitors can then freely explore the area on foot or by bike. T
